Mikey is a handsome 88 pound black Lab, possibly mixed with a little Great Pyrenees, with a big heart and an even bigger love for life! At 3½ years old, he’s at that great age — past the puppy stage but still young enough to see every day as a new adventure filled with things to learn, places to explore, and friends to make.

This big, lovable boy is everything you could want in a companion. He’s playful, friendly, always happy, and absolutely loves people. He gets along great with other dogs, too!

Mikey’s story almost had a heartbreaking ending. He was just moments away from losing his life at a local high-kill shelter, not because of anything he had done, but simply because the shelter needed space. Thankfully, shelter personnel recognized what a wonderful dog he is and reached out to Argos Rescue, asking us to save him.

Now Mikey has a second chance, and he’s ready to make the most of it! All he needs is a family to love, adventures to share, and a forever home where he’ll never have to worry about his future again.
