Ryder, our 2 year old lab mix, came into the rescue with an injured left foot. Our hopes were that with vet care and rest his foot would heal; however, that wasn’t to be. Exams and x-rays convinced our vets that this foot was not going to heal and was actually causing Ryder pain. Like most dogs he made us think that it didn’t bother him a bit.
Today Ryder has successfully recovered from the amputation of his left leg and his personality is one of pure joy. While Ryder may have some limitations, they will be minimal. He loves other dogs and we are amazed at his ability at his ability to run and play.
Ryder gets along well with adults and kids also. He loves spending time outside with his person whether it’s playing fetch or just chillin’ in the sunshine. He listens well and wants to please. He knows basic commands, but is eager to learn more.
Ryder is not a good match for a home with cats.
