Poppy

Poppy

Dropping an old dog off at the shelter when they’ve been a loyal friend and companion to you their entire life is heartbreaking.

Dumping a tiny old blind dog out on the mesa to be eaten by coyotes is cruel and inhumane. It takes the situation to another level entirely.

Animals are not disposable.

Poppy is very lucky to have survived being dumped out on the Mesa to die.

A concerned friend of Argos Rescue was in the right place at the right time and contacted us looking for help. Of course we said yes and little Poppy went directly to our vet partners.

For an older poodle girl, 11-13 years old, and just 10 Lbs, Poppy’s bloodwork looks good and blindness aside, Poppy is in good overall health. Our vet partners gave Poppy a dental and our grooming partners have bathed and trimmed her up beautifully.

She has a voracious appetite, appears to be housetrained, loves people, and gets around perfectly fine.
