Mojo

Mojo

Mojo is a handsome 6 year old male black lab who we found sitting in a small community shelter.  Unfortunately Mojo had several strikes against him at the shelter.  He’s a black lab .. black dogs are known to be the hardest to adopt out in favor of light colored dogs; he’s large .. large dogs are most often passed over by potential adopters; he’s older .. adopters are most often looking for younger dogs or puppies; and the shelter suffers from over-crowding.  After meeting Mojo and realizing what a sweet and friendly personality he has, we knew we had to give Mojo that second chance.

Update from Mojo’s foster:  Mojo is a well behaved dog.  He doesn’t bark at other animals, people, or when the doorbell rings.  He’s not a jumper, but does enjoy laying on the couch.  He walks well on the leash.  He loves to play tug of war with his toys.  He can walk up to about 45 minutes and then slows down, likely due to some arthritis.  He’s a picky eater in regards to dry food, but likes canned food.  He sleeps through he night and has not had an accident in the house.  He likes you to go outside with him and stands at the door if you put him out alone.  He gets along great with my 2 cats.  He loves visiting with other dogs and doesn’t bark or get aggressive, he just likes to sniff.  He knows commands like sit, shake, stay, and come here.  I occasionally reward him with small treats when he obeys these commands.  Mojo LOVES riding in the car in the front seat.  He goes to the garage hoping to just sit in the car with the cats.
