Gus is a beautiful six year old Shih-tzu who is true to his breeding and is a complete lap dog. He is social and loves to be near his foster family. He likes being around people or sitting quietly by your feet.

Everyone who has met this boy has fallen in love. Gus will be a loyal and loving companion. His few weeks in foster care have been filled with visiting canine friends and family. He does great with both.

While he loves being around people of all ages, at this time we are not recommending he be placed in a home with small children.

Prior to coming to Argos, Gus had been allowed to free feed. This habit has led him to gain a tremendous amount of weight and now that he’s on a healthy diet, he thinks that he’s starving. He’s not starving ! Gus may try and grab food from unsuspecting humans.

Gus is a bit of a pork chop so it will be necessary to continue monitoring his diet so that he can lead a long and healthy life.

He’s a smart little fella and figured out the doggie door as soon he saw the other dogs use it. Gus listens and learns quickly.

If you need a best friend, Gus is your guy.
