On Friday May 30th, a Good Samaritan was headed to Santa Fe on a field trip with a van load of people. Someone spotted a dog sitting patiently in a cattle field along rural I-25. Obviously not a good spot for any pup to be.
Fast forward to June 5th. The same Good Samaritan was again headed to Santa Fe. He again spotted the same dog in the same cattle field along the same empty stretch of highway. This time a Sheriff’s deputy showed up to help out.
The old boy came bounding up to the the Deputy and the Good Samaritan happy as heck to be “found”.
It was obvious to both of them that this boy was in rough shape and had been out there a while. The big guy desperately needed some food, water, medical attention, and lots of lovin’.
This poor pup had more than likely been dumped out in the middle of nowhere and had been waiting patiently for quite a while for his owners to return and get him.
Meet Butters 💕
Butters is an 8-9 year old yellow labby. He has some visual impairment which is why he probably waited in the same spot along the highway for his people to return.
Butters is great with other dogs, loves treats, and is just a sweet old honey bun.
Special thank you to the Deputy and Good Samaritan for getting Butters to safety and notifying Argos Rescue.🙏💕
